Hi Annika,

Thanks for not failing us. There's more mobile coding they you might notice in the site. Originally the flash based site was a disaster on Apple mobile products so we made changes so that the site detected mobile users and presented a faster non-flash site for mobile users. In the coming weeks we will be porting the rushed (we were in a hurry based on surprise ad space availability) to get a microsite up in time. You have my email so send suggestions over anytime.

Cheers,
Dan

I went through this exact pain back in July. You would have thought that the execs at DQ would have tested the app on their phones before launching the promotion.

Another awesome example! Love your code-spotting series.

My suggestion would be to give them a reason to scan - other than liking you on Facebook. Maybe some videos of your tours, to check them out before booking. Or discount or promo. I bet your number of scans would go through the roof.

Thanks for the feedback! I threw up a few codes around the store at the end of one day to get a feel for them. I felt that pointing people towards our website was a little redundant since they where already in the store, hence the FB direct. I'm finding there's still not a lot of active scanning out there.

I'm not down with the QR code going to Facebook pages, I think it's asking people to do too much.

Like, if I found buried treasure, I wouldn't want to find a note asking me to polish the gold and put it back in the hole. That's how I feel when a qr code takes me to a Facebook page.
